Just notes on the presentation.

Hey Group,
I just wanted to write down a few things that we need to make sure that we mention in our presentation that is not necessarily on our power point slides.

Whoever talks about our solutions and working with other organizations needs to make sure they mention working with and going threw the DOC on campus.

Whoever talks about the budget needs to mention that it fluctuates based up on we are doing and whether other groups are having presentations or speakers.

Also on Monday if we could just meet for like 15 minutes at 3pm to figure out who is talking during what part of the presentation so that everyone can prepare. Also Danae is going to talk about how the calendar of events will help us and Samantha is going to talk about the demographics of campus.

So here is the logo. The font and pitch etc... can be changed pretty much up to the last point. We could add UW on one side of the building, and RF on the other, probably in red... but here is the basic logo. See you all tomorrow morning.

updated demographics

Here are some more demographics that I have found:

Sample demographics (from campus climate survey):

-129 people (6%) who identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or queer;

-18 (1%) who were questioning their sexuality

-2,096 (93%) who identified as heterosexual

-164 (7%) People of Color
-
2,073 (93%) White respondents
-40 people (2%) who identified as having a physical disability
-52 people (2%) who identified as having a learning disability
-53 people (2%) who identified as having a psychological condition

-688 people (31%) who identified their spiritual affiliation as other than

Christian (including those with no affiliation)

Stats:

09-10 transfer students: 634

09-10 re-entry transfer students: 58

WI Resident: 50%
Non Resident: 3%
Reciprocity: 47%

Full-time students: 93%

Part-time students: 7%

Group Meeting 4/25

Time: 3-3:50
Present: Everyone

Clarification of ideas:
Danae: email idea
cammy: discrimination policy is on a one-on-one basis. Will address the issue when one person accuses the other
Dylan: WOW is optional for transfer students
weekly e-newsletter to give off campus people a better idea of what's going on
off-campus outreach program
post things at the drinking fountain and bathrooms
*sam: transfered here and didn't hear anything about WOW*
logo- finding one is difficult on the internet; if anything can make one up
Minoori: we liked the posted slogan
couple ideas to welcome others
Emy: most R.A.'s would be willing to post the flyers
also more than willing to host a dorm-wide event

Monthly email idea:
first is an announcement
second begins the monthly announcements and calendar of events; if any student orgs need to make a statement they could throw on a note
could be interviews

Danae will discuss the angle from which we are approaching the discrimination issue so we do not confuse people.
